How are your AMSOIL sales tracking? October is here. That means that the year is three quarters complete and there is just one quarter remaining. Where are you in regards to the goals you set for your AMSOIL business for the year? To use a sports analogy, what is the score? Are you on pace to meet the goals you set? Are you ahead in the game and have already met your goals? Or are you behind and in jeopardy of not meeting them?

Here are some 4th quarter strategies depending on where you are at:

Behind in the score: So it’s time to hustle up some AMSOIL business as I discussed in an earlier blog. Pull out your customer list and evaluate each one. If you haven’t received any new orders from your existing customers, give them a call or stop by for a visit. The product catalogs have got some great new and refocused products. Do they know about these products? It’s also the change of seasons and perhaps they are in need of some products to aid in preparing their equipment for winter use or storage. Don’t sit back and hope for the score to change. Be aggressive and make a move before the clock runs out on the year.

On track to finish ahead: Great work, but this is not a time to coast. You don’t want to get caught from behind and lose your advantage. This would be a good time to check in on the Dealers you have sponsored in your Personal Group. Offer to help them with their business. Are they struggling and need a little support? What about making some joint customer calls with them to help them drum up some business. Remember their success is your success and helping them can pad your score.

You’re ahead with a big lead: Congratulations, but do you really want to put in the second string. Keep in contact with your current customers and make sure they are happy. This is also a great time to ask for referral. Find out if they know a person or a business that you can also help. These personal referrals can be great source of new business. You may want to have a conversation with your current customers and find out if they have started planning for next year. Maybe there is some new equipment or other changes in the business that you can help them with. How about trying to get out of your comfort zone and try something new. Just make sure you are not sitting back and watching the clock tick away the remaining time.

No matter what the score is, it is important that you finish out the game strong and continue to work your AMSOIL business. Consistency in your efforts will help you in the long run. In the words of Hall of Fame coach Vince Lombardi, “If winning isn’t everything, why do they keep score?”
